What is anxiety therapy and how does it work?

Anxiety therapy is a structured process where you work with a trained therapist to understand the causes of your anxiety and learn practice tools to manage it.  At Bluebird Counseling Center, we use evidence-based methods like CBT, ACT, and mindfulness to help you feel calmer and more in control.

How long does anxiety counseling last?

The length of treatment varies depending on the type and severity of your anxiety.  Many clients notice meaningful improvement within 8-16 sessions, though some prefer longer-term support.  Your therapist will work with you to create a plan that fits your needs and goals.

 

Can anxiety therapy be done online? 

Yes, Bluebird Counseling Center offers secure telehealth sessions via video with some of our providers, so you can receive the same quality care from he comfort of your home.  Online therapy is effective, convenient, and available throughout Pennsylvania with certain providers at our office.

What's the difference between anxiety and stress?

Stress is typically triggered by a specific external cause and fades when that cause is resolved.  Anxiety tends to persist even when no clear threat is present and can feel disproportionate to the situation.  If anxiety if affecting your daily life, therapy can help.

How do I know if I need anxiety therapy?

If worry, fear, or nervousness is interfering with your relationships, work, sleep, or daily activities, or if you feel unable to control anxious thoughts on your own - it may be time to talk with a therapist. Reaching out is a sign of strength, not weakness.
