Frequently Asked Questions
Bluebird Counseling Center LLC | Lititz, PA
Getting Started
Q: How do I know if I'm ready for therapy? You don't have to be in crisis to reach out. If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, grieving, or simply want a space to work through something — that's enough. Reaching out is often the hardest step, and we'll make everything after that as simple as possible. Contact us and we'll help you figure out if Bluebird is the right fit. Q: How do I get started at Bluebird Counseling Center? The easiest way to begin is to reach out through our contact page or email us at info@bluebirdcc.org. We'll gather some basic information about what's bringing you in, and work to match you with the right provider based on your needs, preferences, and insurance. No pressure — just a conversation. Q: How do I know which therapist is the right fit for me? When you reach out, we take the time to understand what you're looking for so we can match you thoughtfully. If we don't currently have a provider that seems like a good fit for your specific needs, we'll let you know and offer referral options. Finding the right fit matters deeply to us. Q: Do you offer a free consultation before I commit to therapy? We encourage you to reach out before scheduling so we can answer your questions, learn a little about your situation, and ensure we have a provider who is a good match for your needs. Reach out via our contact form or email info@bluebirdcc.org to get the conversation started.
What to Expect
Q: What happens during my first appointment? Your first appointment is a psychiatric diagnostic evaluation — a 60-minute intake session where your provider will get to know you, understand what's bringing you in, and begin learning about your goals for therapy. It's a chance for both of you to get a feel for whether it's a good fit. You're encouraged to ask questions and share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. Q: How long will I need to be in therapy? This is different for everyone. Some clients find meaningful progress in a few months; others choose to continue longer. We revisit your goals regularly so therapy always feels purposeful, and you are always in the driver's seat when it comes to the direction and pace of your care. Q: How often will I need to attend sessions? For most clients, especially younger clients, we recommend starting with weekly sessions. Consistent, frequent contact early in therapy helps build the trust and rapport that makes deeper work possible. As you progress, many clients transition to every other week. We'll work with you to find a rhythm that supports your growth and fits your schedule. Q: Do you have a therapy dog? Yes! Sadie, Bluebird's beloved therapy dog, accompanies Brittany Beers during sessions and may occasionally join other providers as well. Sadie is trained to offer warmth, comfort, and emotional support to clients who welcome her presence. If you have allergies or prefer sessions without Sadie, just let us know — she's more than happy to stay in her crate, and we maintain air purifiers and a clean office environment for the comfort of all clients.
